HUMAN GIANT 24: THE GREATEST COMEDIC EVENT EVER TELEVISED?

I’m gonna say at least in the last decade. Gen-Y comedy nerds should take a tip from the Baby Boomers and annoy everyone with “You weren’t there!” or “You were watching Ghost Whisperer!”, everyone who missed the most amazing Friday MTV ever had. May 18-19, 2007 was your Woodstock. What? Never liked Human Giant too much? It doesn’t matter because you missed 10 comics you do like and they were in top form doing bits they’d never do again (mostly). Everyone was there and it was 24 hours of mayhem and tomfoolery. Oh, and Human Giant reached their goal of a million hits to their website to get a second season, of course.

Fabrice Fabrice, drunk camera whore security guard Cliff Carver, Cracked Out, Osama Bin Diesel, disgusting webcam girl, and a Borat army! Pardon? That’s not enough? What is wrong with you?! Ok, fine. What about Ted Leo’s amp unplugging, Eric Slovin as a leprechaun then Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone as leprechauns, or Tim and Eric going to see Shrek 3 instead? Yeah, I know. And all with Paul, Rob, and Aziz, an audience of troopers, and a Red Bull pyramid.

Above, I put together my favorite clips. I’m an editor of this blog, though, not of videos.

OMG, YES! I feel so fortunate that I stumbled upon this when it was happening and subsequently watched nearly all 24 hours of comedic greatness. While I had long been a casual fan of comedy, I think it the Human Giant 24 Hour Marathon really kick-started my comedy obsession and defined the sort of wacky comedy that I adore.
